ThinkPad X220 business touch laptop

This Lenovo ThinkPad X220 ships new with Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, a 12.5 inch HD touch display at 1366x768, an Intel Core i7-2640M processor reaching 3.50 GHz, 4GB of DDR3 memory and a 500GB hard drive. It is aimed at professionals who need a compact, pen-capable device for office applications and communications on the move.

Build integration with docking and ports

The laptop includes a docking connector shared with ThinkPad T, L and W series, so it slots into existing desk setups without new infrastructure. Three USB ports, VGA and DisplayPort outputs handle peripherals and external monitors, while Gigabit LAN and 802.11b/g/n wireless cover wired and wireless networks. The 500GB hard drive and 4GB of RAM are user-accessible for later upgrades.

Suited to mobile office work, not heavy media

Buyers who want a lightweight, durable machine for document editing, VoIP calls with dual-microphone modes and keyboard-noise suppression will find the X220 a good fit. Those who need an SSD, more than 4GB of memory, a higher-resolution screen or modern wireless standards should look at something else.

Questions about this item
