The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5-inch business laptop with a touch display and pen support. It runs on an Intel Core i7-2640M processor with a turbo frequency of 3.50 GHz. The system includes 16GB of DDR3 memory and a 256GB solid-state drive. Windows 7 Professional 64-bit comes pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Check ports OS and dock compatibility

Verify that your existing peripherals work with the available VGA and DisplayPort video outputs. The laptop provides three USB ports and a Gigabit LAN connection for wired networks. Wireless connectivity uses 802.11b/g/n standards. A docking connector allows shared use with compatible ThinkPad docks. Ensure your software environment supports Windows 7 Professional before purchase.

Upgrade from non-touch or lower-spec X-series

This unit replaces older X-series models lacking touch input or pen capability. The 16GB memory and 256GB SSD offer a significant step up from configurations with 4GB or 8GB of RAM and mechanical drives. The jump is worth it for mobile professionals needing pen-enabled workflows and faster storage responsiveness. The shared video memory handles standard business graphics tasks.
