Business ultrabook with i7-4600U

The Lenovo ThinkPad X240 is a 12.5 inch business ultrabook built for mobile professionals who value durability. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-4600U processor with 8GB DDR3 memory. A 2TB solid-state drive provides ample space for documents and applications. The FHD IPS touch display supports direct input for presentations and field work.

Connectivity limited to two USB ports

This model offers only two USB ports for peripherals, so users needing multiple accessories may require a hub. Wireless connectivity relies on Bluetooth 4.0 for mice, keyboards or headsets. There is no optical drive and no additional video outputs listed, restricting external monitor options. The single combo audio jack handles both headphone and microphone functions.

Soldered memory prevents RAM upgrades

The 8GB DDR3 memory is not user-expandable, limiting future multitasking headroom. Storage upgrades are possible via the 2.5 inch drive bay, though the 2TB SSD already covers most needs. Battery replacement requires removing the bottom case screws. The spill-resistant keyboard and carbon-fibre roll cage simplify long-term maintenance for travelling users.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2TB SSD version or a smaller drive?

The 2TB SSD gives you ample space for large project files, virtual machines and media without needing external storage.

What does the 3.3 GHz turbo speed mean when I am actually working?

The Core i7-4600U will boost to 3.3 GHz for short bursts during demanding tasks like compiling code or rendering video, then settle lower to manage heat.

Does Bluetooth 4.0 limit the peripherals I can connect?

Bluetooth 4.0 supports keyboards, mice, headsets and modern low-energy devices; it may not reach the throughput or range of newer Bluetooth versions.
