Lenovo ThinkPad X240 Ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad X240 is a 12.5 inch business ultrabook built for mobile professionals. It runs Windows 8.1 Pro on an Intel Core i7-4600U processor with 8GB of DDR3 memory. A 1TB hard drive provides ample local storage for documents and media. The chassis meets MIL-SPEC durability standards for demanding environments.

12.5 Inch FHD Touch Display

The 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen suits users who need precise input and wide viewing angles for presentations or field work. A spill-resistant backlit keyboard supports productivity in low-light conditions. Bluetooth 4.0 handles wireless peripherals. Buyers requiring solid-state speed or larger screen real estate should consider other form factors.

Sustained Workload Behaviour

The dual-core i7-4600U reaches up to 3.3 GHz for burst tasks but will throttle under continuous heavy load to manage thermals in the slim chassis. Mechanical hard drive latency limits sustained random read and write performance compared to flash storage. Eight gigabytes of memory handles typical office multitasking without excessive paging. The carbon fibre roll cage maintains structural rigidity during extended transport.
