Business ultrabook for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad X240 is a 12.5" laptop built for frequent travel and office work. It runs Windows 8.1 Pro on an Intel Core i7-4600U processor with a base speed up to 3.3 GHz. The system includes 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 1TB hard drive for local file storage. A 1366 x 768 touch display adds direct input for presentations and navigation.

MIL-SPEC tested chassis

The carbon fibre roll cage and reinforced construction meet eight durability parameters including vibration, humidity and temperature shock. A spill-resistant, backlit keyboard protects against accidental liquid exposure during daily commutes. Connectivity covers two USB ports, a headphone and microphone combo jack and Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless peripherals. The integrated fingerprint reader provides quick biometric login without extra hardware.

Low-voltage processor keeps heat and noise down

The 15 W U-series chip runs cool during typical office workloads, so fan activity stays quiet in meeting rooms. With no discrete graphics, power draw remains modest, helping the battery last through a working day. The hard drive adds some mechanical noise compared with solid-state storage, but vibration damping in the chassis limits resonance. This thermal profile suits steady productivity rather than sustained heavy compute.
