ThinkPad X240 business ultrabook

This Lenovo ThinkPad X240 is a 12.5-inch business ultrabook built for professionals who need a durable, portable Windows 10 Pro machine. It combines an Intel Core i7-4600U processor with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 128GB solid-state drive. The 1920x1080 FHD IPS touch display supports direct interaction. MIL-SPEC testing and a carbon fibre roll cage ensure it withstands demanding environments.

Upgrading from older business laptops

The X240 replaces heavier, non-touch ultraportables or aging clamshell notebooks that lack solid-state responsiveness. The jump is worth it when you need the instant-on capability of an SSD, the precision of a 10-point touch screen, and a spill-resistant backlit keyboard for low-light work. Buyers who require larger internal storage or discrete graphics for intensive rendering should look elsewhere.

Simple deployment for IT teams

Deployment is straightforward: Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed, and the single 128GB drive requires no RAID configuration. Bluetooth 4.0 pairs peripherals without dongles. The main friction point is the soldered 8GB DDR3, which prevents memory upgrades, and the 128GB capacity, which may demand external storage for large media libraries. The combo audio jack works with standard headsets.
