The LINKSKEY LKS-SG5P provides five RJ45 ports that operate at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps. It is built for small offices or home workgroups that need a simple wired expansion without configuration. The unit ships with a DC 5V power adapter and supports desktop or wall mounting.

Unmanaged 1000 Mbps Limit

The switch follows IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u and IEEE802.3ab standards and offers no VLAN, QoS or management features. Each port negotiates Half or Full Duplex automatically and supports 802.3x flow control. Jumbo frames and a 2K MAC address table are supported, but traffic prioritisation is not available.

Upgrade From 100 Mbps Hubs

Replacing a legacy 100 Mbps hub or switch removes the 100 Mbps bottleneck for file transfers and local streaming. The jump is worth it when workstations or NAS devices have Gigabit NICs and cabling is Cat5e or better. It does not add managed functions, so buyers who need VLAN segmentation or port mirroring must look elsewhere.
