Heavy-duty tool removes and installs larger brake return springs with or without an anchor pin
The Lisle 44800 is a professional-grade tool built to remove and install larger brake return springs. It functions on brake assemblies with or without an anchor pin. The operator engages the spring in the tool head and turns the rear handle to lock it securely. A removable front handle allows the tool to be used in tight spaces where access is limited.
This tool replaces improvised methods or light-duty spring pliers that cannot grip heavy springs safely. The jump is worth it whenever a standard tool slips, damages the spring, or cannot generate enough leverage to stretch a large return spring. Its locking mechanism holds the spring under tension, removing the need for a second pair of hands during difficult installations.
The tool is designed specifically for larger brake return springs found on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. It comfortably handles the high tension of these springs during both removal and installation. It runs out when the spring diameter or wire thickness exceeds the physical limits of the tool head, or when workspace constraints prevent the rear handle from rotating fully.
