KLKR 2 A Fast-Acting Fuse

The Littelfuse KLKR002 is a cartridge-style fuse rated at 2 amperes for 600 VAC and 300 VDC circuits. It uses a North American rejection-cap design that prevents insertion into incompatible holders. Heavy-duty zinc die-cast construction supports industrial and commercial control-sensor installations. The fast-acting element clears faults quickly to protect sensitive downstream equipment.

200 kA Interrupting Capacity at 600 VAC

The fuse carries a symmetrical interrupting rating of 200,000 amperes RMS at 600 VAC, limiting the energy let-through during a short circuit. This rating defines the maximum prospective fault current the device can safely interrupt without rupture. Circuits with higher available fault current require a fuse with a greater interrupting rating. The 300 VDC rating applies to direct-current systems only and does not extend the AC interrupting capability.

Replaces Slower KLKR or Non-Rejection Cartridges

The KLKR002 upgrades older fast-acting fuses of the same 13/32-inch diameter and 1-1/2-inch length that lack the rejection feature or have lower interrupting ratings. It is not suited for applications needing time-delay characteristics to ride through motor inrush or transformer magnetising currents. Buyers who need a dual-element or time-delay fuse should select a different series. The physical dimensions match standard North American cartridge clips, so no holder change is required when the rejection feature is compatible.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 2 A version or a different amperage for my circuit?

Select the 2 A rating only if your circuit’s normal current is at or below 2 amps; a higher-rated fuse will not protect the wiring, while a lower one will nuisance-blow.

What does the 200 000 A interrupting rating mean once the fuse is installed?

It means the fuse can safely break a 200 000 A fault current at 600 V AC without rupturing, protecting downstream equipment during a severe short circuit.

How do the 600 V AC and 300 V DC voltage ratings limit where I can use this fuse?

The fuse is rated for circuits up to 600 V AC RMS or 300 V DC; do not apply it on systems exceeding either value.
