Hydraulic Thread Sealant

Loctite 5452 is an anaerobic pipe thread sealant supplied in a 1.69 fl oz purple tube for sealing steel hydraulic fittings. It cures in the absence of air to form a solid seal that resists vibration and pressure cycling. The product meets ISO 10123 and ISO 10964 standards for thread sealing performance. Mechanics and maintenance technicians use it on hydraulic system connections where reliable leak prevention is required.

Upgrade From Tape And Paste

This liquid sealant replaces PTFE tape and traditional pipe dope on steel hydraulic fittings where a permanent, vibration-resistant bond is needed. The anaerobic cure fills all thread voids without shrinking or cracking over time. The switch is worth it when joints must hold up to 10,000 psi liquid pressure without weeping or loosening. It eliminates the variability of tape wrap tension and paste application thickness.

High Pressure Temperature Range

The sealant operates continuously from -65 degrees F to 300 degrees F while maintaining a seal at 10,000 psi liquid pressure. It handles hydraulic oil, fuel and coolant in steel piping systems without degrading. The material runs out of headroom on non-steel metals, plastic threads or oxygen-rich environments where anaerobic chemistry is unsuitable. Large diameter or damaged threads may exceed the gap-filling capacity of the liquid formulation.
