Avid Media Composer shortcut keyboard

This LogicKeyboard Astra2 is built for editors who use Avid Media Composer on Windows 10 or 11. It places more than 60 application-specific shortcuts directly on the keycaps so you can drive the timeline without hunting through menus. The classic layout keeps standard typing familiar while adding colour-coded command groups for faster recognition.

Backlit keys and integrated USB 3.0 hub

Adjustable backlighting offers five brightness levels to match dim edit suites or late-night sessions without washing out the legends. A built-in USB 3.0 Super-Speed hub lets you attach an SSD or other peripheral at the keyboard, keeping the cable run short and the desktop tidy.

Windows 10 and 11 Plug-and-Play only

The keyboard requires no driver installation on Windows 10 or 11, but it is not supported on earlier Windows versions or on macOS. Shortcut legends are printed for the Media Composer command set, so users of other NLEs will not benefit from the labelled keys. The single USB connection carries both data and hub traffic, limiting total bandwidth to the USB 3.0 spec.

Questions about this item

Will the printed Avid Media Composer shortcut legends on the Astra2 keys wear off with daily use?

The legends are printed on the keycaps; heavy daily use can cause them to fade over time, but the backlit illumination in five dimmable levels keeps shortcuts visible even if print wears.

What limits the built-in USB 3.0 Super-Speed hub when an SSD and other peripherals are connected all day?

The hub shares a single USB 3.0 upstream connection, so combined throughput of all attached devices cannot exceed the 5 Gbit/s bandwidth of that link.

How much heat or noise does the Astra2 produce when the backlight runs at full brightness for a full editing session?

The keyboard has no fan; heat is limited to the LED backlight and USB hub circuitry, which stay barely warm, and it adds no audible noise during operation.
