Logitech R500 Graphite presenter

The Logitech R500 is a presentation remote designed for speakers who move around a room while advancing slides. It connects through a USB dongle or Bluetooth and includes a built-in red laser pointer for highlighting on screen. A single AAA battery powers the unit for roughly twelve months of typical use. The graphite finish gives it a low-key professional look.

65-foot wireless range

The decisive specification is the 65.0-foot operating distance, which lets you control slides from the back of a large meeting room or lecture hall. Both the 2.4 GHz proprietary link and Bluetooth share this range, so you can pair directly to a laptop or use the supplied receiver without losing coverage. If your venue exceeds that radius, the remote will not reliably register clicks.

Battery life under daily use

With the laser pointer turned off, the remote runs for about twelve months plus one extra week on one AAA cell. Regular laser use shortens that span, so presenters who highlight frequently should keep a spare battery in the carrying pouch. The receiver draws negligible power from the host USB port and adds no measurable drain to a laptop during long sessions.
