Mastered for Mac layout

The MX Mechanical Mini for Mac ships with a dedicated Mac key layout optimised for macOS, iPadOS and iOS. It connects via Bluetooth Low Energy and pairs with up to three Apple devices for quick switching. A USB-C to USB-C cable is included for charging, and the keyboard requires a USB port for that cable. The compact form factor measures 5.19 x 11.65 x 0.82 inches in pale gray.

Tactile Quiet switches and smart backlight

Low-profile mechanical switches provide a tactile bump that is felt but barely heard, giving precise feedback and reactive reset. Backlit keys illuminate automatically when hands approach and adjust brightness to ambient conditions. Plastic parts contain certified post-consumer recycled material. No mouse or additional software is bundled in the package.

Bluetooth pairing and macOS requirement

Setup is a standard Bluetooth Low Energy pairing on macOS 10.15 or later, iOS 13.4 or later, or iPadOS 14 or later. The keyboard works wirelessly once paired, with the USB-C cable used only for charging. Buyers who need a numeric keypad or wired-only operation should look elsewhere, as this model is compact and cordless by design.

Questions about this item

Do the low-profile mechanical switches need lubrication or replacement after extended use?

The Tactile Quiet switches are factory-lubricated and rated for tens of millions of keystrokes, so no routine lubrication or switch replacement is expected.

What limits continuous typing sessions on this keyboard?

The built-in rechargeable battery is the first limit; backlighting reduces run-time, but a full charge supports multiple days of typical use before USB-C recharging is required.

How much heat or fan noise does the keyboard produce when left on all day?

There is no fan and negligible heat; the only power draw comes from the Bluetooth radio and adaptive backlighting, both of which stay cool during continuous operation.
