What the G305 LIGHTSPEED is

The Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED is a wireless gaming mouse built around a HERO optical sensor that reaches 12,000 DPI. It connects through a 1 ms LIGHTSPEED RF link and runs up to 250 hours on one AA battery. The shell weighs 99 grams and stores the nano receiver inside for travel.

Suits competitive players.

Gamers who want a light, lag-free mouse with six programmable buttons and a 1000 Hz polling rate will fit this model. It works on Windows, Mac and Chrome OS without extra software. Buyers who need an internal rechargeable battery or more than six buttons should look elsewhere.

Deciding spec: 12,000 DPI HERO sensor

The HERO sensor delivers 400 IPS tracking and 12,000 DPI sensitivity at 10x the power efficiency of prior optical designs. That combination of speed, accuracy and 250-hour battery life determines whether the G305 matches your play style.

Questions about this item

Does the mouse come with the AA battery it needs, or do I buy that separately?

The G305 includes a USB wireless receiver that stores inside the mouse body; a single AA battery is required for power and is not included.

The box lists up to 12,000 DPI — is that the only sensitivity setting or can I step it down?

The HERO sensor supports sensitivity up to 12,000 DPI and can be adjusted in steps through Logitech G HUB software to match different games or desktop work.

What does the 1 ms report rate actually give me during a match?

A 1 ms report rate means the mouse sends position data to the PC 1,000 times per second, keeping cursor movement in sync with fast hand motion in competitive play.
