Logitech G431 Wired 7.1 Gaming Headset

The Logitech G431 is a wired gaming headset built for players who want 7.1-channel surround sound without a wireless battery. It connects via USB for DTS Headphone:X 2.0 on PC or a 3.5 mm jack for consoles and mobile devices. The 50 mm drivers deliver a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. A 6 mm cardioid boom microphone handles voice pickup.

Upgrade from stereo headsets

Moving to this headset adds DTS Headphone:X 2.0 spatial audio on Windows PCs through the USB connection and Logitech G HUB software. The jump is worth it when you need directional cues in competitive titles or clearer team communication via the unidirectional mic. Passive 3.5 mm use on PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch provides stereo only.

50 mm drivers with 107 dB sensitivity

This combination handles loud, detailed game audio and voice chat comfortably across PC and consoles. The 2 m cable gives enough reach for desktop setups. Headroom runs out when you need wireless freedom, active noise cancellation or software features on platforms without G HUB support. The 280 g weight suits long sessions.

Which connection do I use first, the USB adapter or the 3.5 mm plug, and what step enables 7.1 surround?

Plug the USB adapter into a USB 2.0 port on a Windows PC, install Logitech G HUB, then activate DTS Headphone:X 2.0 in the software for 7.1 surround.

When should I replace the ear pads on a 280 g headset with 50 mm drivers?

Replace the ear pads when the leatherette cracks or the foam no longer seals around your ears, typically after one to two years of daily use.
