Logitech V9 7.1 Gaming Headset

The Logitech V9 is a wired gaming headset with 7.1 surround sound and 50mm drivers. It connects via USB for audio and lighting, while a 3.5mm splitter cable extends compatibility to consoles and mobile devices. Active noise cancellation on the microphone reduces background sound during calls.

Suited for multi-platform gamers wanting surround

Players who need wireless freedom or a detachable microphone should look elsewhere. The fixed boom and USB-powered LED lighting limit use on devices without a USB port for the surround processor. Buyers who prefer open-back acoustics or a lighter frame under 9 ounces will not find those traits here.

50mm drivers handle gaming

The 18 ohm impedance allows adequate volume from console controllers and laptop ports. Bass response reaches down to 2Hz on paper, though very low frequencies lack physical impact. The 6.6 foot cable gives enough reach for desk setups but falls short for living-room play across larger rooms.

Questions about this item

What device and port does the USB-powered 7.1 surround sound and RGB lighting require?

A host with a free USB-A port — PC, Mac, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One — supplies both the digital 7.1 processing and the steady-on RGB LEDs; no extra power adapter is needed.

Will the 3.5 mm splitter cable let me keep using an older console controller that has separate headphone and mic jacks?

Yes. The included 3.5 mm Y-splitter breaks the single 4-pole plug into distinct pink and green connectors so the headset works with legacy dual-jack controllers or sound cards.

How can I confirm the 50 mm drivers are delivering 7.1 surround after setup?

In Windows Sound control panel or the console audio menu, select the headset as the 7.1 device, then run the speaker-test tone for each of the eight channels; you should hear discrete cues from every virtual speaker position.
