What the LOKMAT APPLLP 7 MAX is

The LOKMAT APPLLP 7 MAX is a standalone smartwatch running Android 8.1 on an SC8541E chip with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. It features a 2.06-inch AMOLED touchscreen at 410 x 502 resolution and a 2MP rotating pop-up camera. The device connects via 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G bands plus 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. A Nano SIM slot enables independent calls and data.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This watch suits users wanting a wrist-worn smartphone with a camera, GPS, Beidou navigation and a square AMOLED display. It supports heart-rate monitoring, music, video, browser and the HiSportPro app. Buyers who need water resistance should look elsewhere because the specifications state NO water resistance. Those requiring longer standby than the listed 3 to 5 minutes or a different operating system will not find it here.

Behaviour under sustained load

The 930 mAh lithium-polymer battery charges in 1.5 hours. Continuous use of the camera, GPS, Beidou, 4G/5G modem and bright AMOLED screen will drain the cell far faster than the quoted standby window. The fluoroelastomer strap and zinc-alloy case remain comfortable during extended wear, but the watch must be removed for charging at least once per day with heavy workloads.
