U.2 Kit for Intel SSD 750 Series
This adapter kit connects Intel SSD 750, P3600 and P3700 drives to a motherboard using the SFF-8639 U.2 interface. It operates over a PCIe 4.0 x4 link rated at 4 GBps. The card accepts M.2 modules in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths with an M-key socket. Only the adapter card is supplied; the cable is not included.
Builders adding enterprise U.2 drives to consumer
The kit suits builders who want to install Intel SSD 750, P3600 or P3700 drives in a system with a U.2 port. It does not suit users who need a complete kit with a cable included. It also does not suit installations that require drive lengths outside the 2230 to 2280 range or a key type other than M-key.
PCIe 4.0 x4 at 4 GBps through SFF-8639
The single specification that decides fit is the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface delivering 4 GBps via the SFF-8639 connector. The host must provide a U.2 port wired for PCIe 4.0 x4 to reach that throughput. If the platform only offers an older PCIe generation or a different connector, the adapter will not perform as designed.
