Compatible HP EliteBook Models

This replacement keyboard fits HP EliteBook 840 G3, 840 G4, 745 G3, 745 G4 and 848 G3 laptops. It matches part numbers 901042-001, 903008-001, 836308-001 and 6037B0126901. The US English layout suits users who need that specific key arrangement. Buyers with different regional layouts or incompatible EliteBook series should verify their model first.

Daily Typing Experience

The backlit keys remain visible in low-light conditions for extended work sessions. High-quality plastic and metal construction resists flex during sustained typing. The design excludes a pointing stick, so users who rely on that navigation method will need an alternative. Key travel and actuation feel consistent over long periods of use.

Build Quality and Installation

A silver frame surrounds the key matrix, matching the original chassis colour on supported models. The unit arrives new and ready to install as a direct swap for a faulty or damaged keyboard. Correct alignment with the laptop's mounting points and ribbon connector is essential for proper function. No additional hardware or cables are included in the package.

Questions about this item

Does the backlit keyboard draw extra power or run hotter when the backlight stays on all day?

The keyboard uses a standard low-voltage backlight circuit that adds negligible draw and does not generate noticeable heat during continuous use.

Which HP EliteBook models and part numbers must my laptop match for this US-layout silver-frame keyboard to fit?

It fits EliteBook 840 G3, 840 G4, 745 G3, 745 G4 and 848 G3, matching part numbers 901042-001, 903008-001, 836308-001 and 6037B0126901.

Will the ribbon cable and mounting points line up if I keep my existing palm-rest and trackpad from an older EliteBook?

The replacement uses the same connector and screw locations as the original keyboards listed, so the original palm-rest and trackpad remain compatible.
