LORDWORLD Internal Mini SAS SFF-8643 to 4 SAS 29Pin SFF-8482 Cable
Connects four SAS or SATA drives to a Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 controller at 6Gbps
- Connect four drives with one Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 host connector
- Supports 6 Gbps SAS 2.1 specification for fast data transfer
- Works with both SAS and SATA hard disks
- 29-pin SFF-8482 target connectors ensure secure drive attachment
- Designed for RAID server setups, not PCI-E SFF-8643 controllers
Connect four drives with one cable
This LORDWORLD cable links a single Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 host port to four SAS 29pin target connectors. It lets you attach up to four SAS or SATA drives to a compatible controller. The cable follows the SAS 2.1 standard for 6Gb/s data rates. It is not compatible with PCI-E SFF-8643 controllers.
Passive design runs without extra power
The assembly has no active electronics, so it adds no heat and draws no power of its own. Thermal load comes only from the drives and controller you connect. No fan or software control is required. Signal quality depends on the host controller and drive firmware.
Fits tight server chassis and raid arrays
The single high-density host connector saves backplane space compared to four separate cables. Four 29pin tails reach drives mounted in dense bays. You need a Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 controller and SAS or SATA drives with 29pin ports. It does not work with PCI-E SFF-8643 controllers or drives lacking the 29pin interface.

Questions about this item
How do I install the SFF-8643 host connector and which step do people get wrong?
Plug the single Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 end into the controller port, then attach each of the four SAS 29pin leads to the drives; the common mistake is trying to use this cable with a PCI-E SFF-8643 controller, which it does not support.
What maintenance or replacement will the SFF-8643 to 4×SFF-8482 cable need later?
No scheduled maintenance is required; replace the cable only if the latch on the SFF-8643 plug or any of the four 29-pin connectors becomes damaged or the conductors show wear.
What limit appears first on the 6 Gbps link under sustained use?
The SAS 2.1 specification caps each lane at 6 Gbps, so total throughput cannot exceed that per drive regardless of workload duration.
