Compatibility Limited to ThinkBook 14+ AMD8845
This adapter is designed exclusively for the 2024 ThinkBook 14+ equipped with the AMD8845 processor. It does not function with the 16+ model or any other laptop. The card adds a single SFF-8612 interface to the system through the M.2 slot. Users with different hardware cannot use this product.
Adds One SFF-8612 Port for NVME Expansion
The converter expands the laptop by one SFF-8612 interface using the NVME protocol. It transmits PCI Express 4x signals to support external devices. An optional cable and separate power source are required to connect either an SSD or a graphics card. No software or drivers are included with the adapter.
PCIe 4.0 Bandwidth Up to 32 Gbps
The link operates at PCIe 4.0 speeds with a data transfer rate up to 32 Gbps and supports NVME 1.2. This bandwidth handles typical SSD workloads and provides headroom for external GPU data streams. Performance will saturate if the connected device demands more than four lanes of PCIe 4.0 throughput.

Questions about this item
Will the SFF-8612 port or the M.2 slot on this adapter need replacement after heavy daily use?
The adapter is a passive PCB with no moving parts or active components, so neither the SFF-8612 port nor the M.2 slot is expected to wear out under normal use.
What bandwidth ceiling appears first when an external GPU runs at full load through the PCIe 4.0 x4 link?
The link is limited to four PCIe 4.0 lanes, giving a maximum of 32 Gbps, which becomes the bottleneck before the GPU's own compute limits are reached.
Does the adapter generate noticeable heat or fan noise when an SSD or GPU is running continuously all day?
The board has no onboard controller or fan, so it adds negligible heat and zero noise; thermal load comes only from the attached drive or card.
