M.2 NVMe to PCIe 3.0 x4 adapter
This LORDWORLD adapter converts an M-key M.2 NVMe SSD into a PCIe 3.0 x4 add-in card. It supports 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors for desktop installation. The device is transparent to the operating system and requires no software drivers. It is suited for builders adding NVMe storage to a spare PCIe slot.
Upgrading from board-mounted M.2 slots
Use this adapter when the motherboard lacks a free M-key M.2 slot or when the existing slot shares bandwidth with other controllers. The jump is worth it if the platform has an open PCIe 3.0 x4 or x16 slot and the SSD remains the performance bottleneck. It does not help if the board already provides a direct CPU-attached M.2 lane.
Driver-free installation in a PCIe slot
Insert the M.2 SSD into the adapter at the correct angle, secure it with the onboard screw, then seat the card into a PCIe x4 or x16 slot. No bracket is included so the rear I/O opening stays open; verify case clearance before purchase. The most common issue is forgetting the retention screw, which leaves the drive unseated and invisible to the BIOS.

Questions about this item
Does the adapter include a mounting bracket for the PCIe slot?
The adapter is supplied without a bracket so you will need to secure it using the case screw or a separate bracket.
How do I attach an M.2 drive to this card?
Insert the drive at an angle into the M-key slot, press it down, and fasten the retaining screw through the standoff that matches the drive length.
Will I need to replace the adapter when I upgrade to a longer M.2 drive?
The board has standoffs for 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths so it accommodates all supported sizes without replacement.
