  • Switch between MSATA and NGFF B/M-key SSDs with the onboard selector
  • Fits 9.5 mm optical bays for a clean internal upgrade
  • Plug-and-play operation needs no drivers or external power
  • Install a second OS on the added SSD for dual-boot flexibility

MSATA and NGFF B/M-Key SSD Caddy

This adapter lets you replace a laptop optical bay with a second solid-state drive. It accepts either an MSATA module or an NGFF B-key or B/M-key SSD, though only one can operate at a time. A physical switch selects between the two interfaces. The caddy targets users who need extra internal storage without external enclosures.

9.5mm Slimline SATA 13-Pin Mount

The tray fits a standard 9.5mm optical drive slot and connects through a 13-pin Slimline SATA interface. No cables, power adapters or driver installations are required; the drive appears to the system exactly like the primary disk. Mechanical latches secure the installed module so it remains firm during transport.

Plug-and-Play Dual-Boot Ready

Installation follows three steps: open the latch, screw the SSD to the board, then slide the assembly into the bay until it clicks. The hardware supports dual-boot configurations, allowing a second operating system on the added drive with BIOS boot selection. M-key only NGFF SSDs are not compatible with this adapter.

Questions about this item

Does the 13-pin Slimline SATA interface limit the SSD to SATA speeds?

Yes, the 13-pin Slimline SATA connection caps the drive at SATA transfer rates regardless of the SSD type installed.

Will this caddy fit a 9.5mm optical bay without extra brackets?

The caddy is built for a 9.5mm universal laptop CD/DVD-ROM bay and replaces the optical drive directly.

How do I switch between an mSATA and an NGFF B/M-key SSD during installation?

Move the conversion switch on the adapter to the correct position before inserting the chosen drive; both types cannot be used simultaneously.
