LORDWORLD NGFF A/E-Key to M.2 Key-M NVME Adapter AX200

SKU CH-X0NN-4PFM9

Converts a motherboard M.2 Key-M slot to an A/E-Key or E-Key interface for NVME modules like the AX200

  • Converts M.2 Key-M slot to Key A-E for AX200 Wi-Fi cards
  • Works with A+E and E-keyed M.2 NGFF PCIe network modules
  • Designed for desktop PCs using M.2 PCIe Key-M port
  • Some NGFF cards incompatible with AMD motherboards
  • Enables NVME interface conversion for wireless upgrades

Adapter purpose and fit

This adapter converts a motherboard M.2 Key-M slot into an M.2 Key A-E or Key E interface for NGFF PCIe network modules. It is designed for desktop PCs that have an available Key-M slot and need to add a compatible wireless card.

Upgrade path and limits

It replaces the need for a dedicated Key A-E slot when only a Key-M position is free. The jump is worth it when the board lacks the correct keying but the user has a supported A+E or E-key NGFF module. Some NGFF cards do not work with AMD motherboards.

Capacity and headroom

The adapter passes PCIe signals from the Key-M slot to the inserted network module without adding storage capacity. It handles modules that follow the NGFF PCIe protocol for A+E or E keying. It runs out when the host board uses AMD chipsets that are incompatible with certain NGFF cards.

Does this adapter fit a motherboard M.2 Key-M slot?

Yes, it plugs into a desktop M.2 PCI-E Key-M port and converts it to an A+E or E key interface.

How is the AX200 module secured once the adapter is seated in the Key-M slot?

Insert the A/E-key module into the adapter, then fasten the module with the motherboard standoff screw.

Will the AX200 need firmware updates after installation?

The adapter itself is passive; any firmware updates apply to the AX200 module and are handled through the operating system.
