LORDWORLD NVME to 9 SATA Adapter 2280 M-Key Gadget
Converts one M.2 NVMe slot into nine SATA 6.0 Gbps ports for SSDs or 3.5" drives with 16 Gbps upstream bandwidth and a heatsink
- Expand storage with nine SATA 3.0 ports from one M.2 NVMe slot
- Dual-channel PCIe Gen3/Gen4 interface delivers 16Gbps aggregate upload bandwidth
- Each port supports 6.0Gbps, 3.0Gbps and 1.5Gbps transfer speeds
- Built-in heatsink keeps chipset cool for stable operation without hot-swap
- Works with Windows, Mac OS, Linux, FreeNAS and major NAS operating systems
9-Port SATA Expansion
This adapter converts a single M.2 M-key slot into nine SATA 3.0 ports for mechanical drives, SSDs or optical drives. It targets builders whose motherboard has spare NVME slots but insufficient native SATA connectors for multi-drive storage appliances. The card operates without extra drivers on Windows, Linux, Mac OS, FreeNAS and common NAS platforms.
Heatsink and Bandwidth
An integrated heatsink on the bridge chip lowers operating temperature for sustained reliability. The dual-channel PCIe Gen3/Gen4 interface delivers 16 Gbps aggregate upstream bandwidth while each downstream port runs at up to 6.0 Gbps, with automatic fallback to 3.0 Gbps and 1.5 Gbps. Hot-swap is not supported.
Slot and Power Check
Verify your motherboard provides an M.2 2280 M-key slot wired for PCIe x4 before ordering. Confirm the system can supply adequate power for nine attached drives, as the adapter draws all drive power through the M.2 connector. Ensure the chassis has physical space for the card and its nine SATA cables.

Questions about this item
Will the adapter's heatsink need replacement or maintenance during continuous NAS operation?
The advanced heatsink on the chipset is designed to maintain lower temperatures during sustained use, avoiding reliability issues from overheating without requiring maintenance or replacement.
Does the PCIe Gen3/Gen4 x4 uplink limit total throughput when all nine SATA ports run simultaneously?
The dual-channel PCIe Gen3/Gen4 M.2 M-Key 4x interface provides 16Gbps total upload bandwidth while each SATA port supports 6Gbps download, so the uplink is the first bottleneck under heavy multi-drive loads.
How much power does the card draw and how hot does it get when all nine drives are active all day?
The onboard heatsink keeps the chipset cool during continuous operation; the adapter itself draws power from the M.2 slot and does not require an external power connector.
