Green circuit board with PCIe x1 male edge connector and x16 female slot, flexible ribbon cable between them

LORDWORLD

LORDWORLD PCI-E 1x to 16x Riser Card Adapter

SKU CH-FK9P-783C2

Extends a PCIe x1 slot to accept x16 graphics cards at x1 speed using a multi-layer PCB

  • Supports 1x, 4x, 8x and 16x cards at 1x speed
  • Works with graphics cards, not RAID controllers
  • Driver-free installation for quick setup
  • Male-to-female extension adds flexible placement
  • Multi-layer PCB design for reliable signal transmission

Product purpose

The LORDWORLD adapter converts a PCIe x1 slot into a physical x16 connector so a graphics card can be mounted away from the motherboard. It is aimed at builders who need to add a GPU to a system that only has a x1 slot available.

Bandwidth constraint

The link operates at x1 electrical speed regardless of the card inserted, so a x16 graphics card will run at a fraction of its normal throughput. The device does not support legacy PCI cards or PCIe x16 RAID controllers.

Installation notes

No driver is required and the board uses a multi-layer PCB layout for signal integrity. Hot-swap is not supported, so the system must be powered off before connecting or disconnecting the riser.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 1x-to-16x riser or a native 16x slot for my graphics card?

The adapter accepts x1, x4, x8 and x16 cards but only delivers x1 electrical speed, so a native x16 slot will always give higher bandwidth.

What does the x16 physical slot actually deliver once the card is installed?

The slot is mechanically x16 but electrically limited to a single lane, so the graphics card will run at x1 speed.

Which PCIe standard does the riser use and what throughput does it cap at?

The riser uses a single PCIe lane; maximum throughput is whatever one lane of your motherboard's generation provides.
