Adds four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports to a Compute Module 4 IO board using a VL805 controller with driver-free operation
This adapter adds four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports to a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 IO Board. It targets developers and makers who need extra high-speed connectivity for peripherals, storage or test equipment. The onboard VL805 controller operates without drivers for plug-and-play simplicity.
The card delivers four ports that run at USB 3.2 Gen1 speeds and remain compatible with USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 devices. Power can be drawn from the PCIe 12 V rail or from an onboard 12 V DC header, giving flexibility for different carrier boards. Bandwidth is shared across the four ports, so simultaneous heavy transfers will contend for the single PCIe lane.
The CM4 IO Board provides only one native USB 2.0 port; this adapter expands that to four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports for cameras, SSDs or debug tools. The jump is worthwhile when a project needs multiple high-speed devices or when the single native port is already occupied. It is not suited for builds that require more than four ports or that lack a free PCIe slot and 12 V supply.

Yes, it draws 12 V directly from the PCIe slot or from the IO Board's 12 V DC header.
The four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports will enumerate immediately — driver-free, plug-and-play — so any connected device should appear in lsusb or Device Manager.
No, only the adapter board is supplied; a PCIe extension cable must be purchased separately if you plan to use it in a PC motherboard slot.
