Adds Power over Ethernet to a Raspberry Pi 5 with the official case included
This expansion board adds Power over Ethernet to a Raspberry Pi 5, delivering both network connectivity and power through a single cable. It complies with the IEEE 802.3 af/at standard and provides a 5V 5A output. The kit includes the official Raspberry Pi 5 case for immediate protection.
The board uses a standard 40PIN GPIO header that aligns with the Raspberry Pi 5 for straightforward assembly into the supplied case. No soldering is required. The main issue arises if the Ethernet switch or injector does not support the IEEE 802.3 af/at standard, which will prevent the board from powering the Pi.
This kit suits developers and hobbyists who want to deploy a Raspberry Pi 5 in locations without convenient mains sockets, using existing PoE infrastructure. It is not intended for setups that rely on a separate USB-C power supply or for installations where no PoE-capable network equipment is available.

The Raspberry Pi 5 will boot and run without an external power supply when the Ethernet cable is connected to a compliant PoE switch or injector.
The package contains the PoE HAT (G) board and the Raspberry Pi 5 Official Case; you must supply the Raspberry Pi 5 unit, a 40PIN GPIO header if not pre-fitted, and an IEEE 802.3 af/at PoE network link.
This PoE HAT (G) is designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi 5 and fits the official case using the standard 40PIN GPIO header.
