SFF-8654 74Pin to PCI-E 16x Adapter
This new adapter connects a PCI-E 16x graphics card or SSD to an SFF-8654 8x host port. It suits compact hosts, desktops and laptops that need external expansion. Fixing holes allow secure mounting in tight spaces. The PCI-E 6Pin power connector supplies 12V power for cards that need extra current.
PCI-E 4.0 and 5.0 signal support up to 32Gbps
The adapter carries PCI Express 4.0 and 5.0 signals using the standard protocol and is backward compatible with 3.0. An 8x SFF-8654 link provides up to 32Gbps bandwidth, enough for many GPUs and high-speed SSDs. Very demanding 16x cards will hit the 8x ceiling and lose some throughput.
6Pin power port and optional cable enable eGPU use
The onboard 6Pin connector feeds 12V power to the installed card when the host slot cannot deliver enough. An optional SFF-8654 cable is required to link the adapter to the host system. No driver disc or management software is bundled.

Questions about this item
Will the adapter work with a PCIe 3.0 graphics card I already own?
Yes, it is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 devices while also supporting 4.0 and 5.0 signalling.
How can I verify the link is running at the expected 32 Gbps after installation?
Check the negotiated link speed in your operating system's device manager or GPU utility; it should show an 8× PCIe 4.0 or 5.0 connection.
Does the package include the SFF-8654 cable needed to reach my external enclosure?
No, the adapter only provides the 74-pin to 16× socket and a 6-pin power port; the SFF-8654 8× cable must be purchased separately.
