Internal USB adapter for modern cases
This LORDWORLD adapter connects a motherboard USB 2.0 header to two USB 3.1 Type-C ports on a chassis front panel. It is aimed at builders whose cases provide only Type-C front connectors but whose boards lack a native Type-C header. The adapter bridges that gap without requiring a new motherboard. It carries USB 2.0 signals at up to 480 Mbps and supplies 5 V at 500 mA per port.
Thermals noise and power
The unit is a passive PCBA with no active cooling, so it adds no fan noise to the system. Power is drawn directly from the motherboard header, limited to the standard USB 2.0 allocation of 5 V and 500 mA per port. Under normal use the adapter runs at ambient temperature and does not increase case airflow requirements. There is no external power connector to route or manage.
Build integration
The adapter plugs into a standard 9-pin or 10-pin internal USB 2.0 header and presents two Type-C sockets for front-panel cables. It does not support Power Delivery, video alt-modes or audio passthrough, so devices that need those features will not work through this link. The board occupies minimal space behind the motherboard tray and leaves all other headers free for additional USB or fan connections.

Questions about this item
How do I plug the 9pin or 10pin header into my motherboard without reversing the pinout?
Align the missing pin on the header with the blocked hole on the motherboard USB 2.0 connector; the keyed shroud prevents a reversed fit.
Will the USB-C ports degrade or need a firmware update over time?
No firmware is involved; the passive PCB simply routes USB 2.0 signals, so only physical wear on the Type-C receptacles could eventually require replacement.
What happens if I plug a device that draws more than 500 mA at 5 V?
The adapter is limited to 5 V/500 mA maximum, so higher-draw devices will not charge or may trigger the motherboard's over-current protection.
