Multi-Interface SSD Docking Gadget
The LORDWORLD USB 3.0 docking gadget connects M.2 NVME drives in 2242, 2260 and 2280 sizes alongside 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA drives plus 40-pin IDE devices. It is built for technicians and hobbyists who need to access data from mixed drive types through a single USB-C or USB-A link. Only one drive operates at a time.
Vertical PCBA Enclosure with Attached Cables
The vertical PCBA layout keeps connectors exposed while fixed Type-C and Type-A cables remove the need for separate leads. A 12 V DC input powers 3.5-inch SATA drives; the supply is not included. Drives do not support hot swapping, so the host must be disconnected before changing media. SATA priority takes over if M.2 and SATA are both seated.
Upgrades Legacy IDE and SATA Access
The dock replaces separate IDE, SATA and M.2 adapters by consolidating them into one USB 3.0 device. M.2 NVME reaches 10 Gbps on USB-C Gen 2 links while SATA tops out at 5 Gbps. The jump is worth it when a workflow regularly switches between NVME, SATA and older 40-pin drives without needing simultaneous operation.

Questions about this item
What practical speed does the USB 3.0 interface cap at for an NVMe drive?
The USB 3.0 link limits an NVMe drive to 5 Gbps even though the dock can pass 10 Gbps over a USB-C Gen 2 connection.
What drive sizes and power does the dock need to fit a 3.5-inch desktop drive?
It accepts 3.5-inch SATA drives and requires an external 12 V DC power supply that is not included.
How do you install a drive without triggering the single-drive rule?
Connect only one drive — M.2 or SATA/IDE — before plugging the dock into the computer; never swap drives while the dock is powered.
