USB 3.1 CFexpress Type-A/B Reader
This reader connects CFexpress Type-A and Type-B cards to a host over USB 3.1 Gen 2 at up to 10 Gbps. It is built for photographers and video editors who need fast off-load from cameras such as the R5, Z6 or Z7. The adapter accepts both card formats but only one slot is active at a time.
Capacity and headroom
The USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface delivers a theoretical 10 Gbps link, letting you move tens of gigabytes of HD footage in seconds. Real-world throughput will be limited by the card itself and the host controller, so very high-bitrate cinema formats may not saturate the bus. It does not support XQD cards, so owners of that format need a different solution.
Bundled cables and compatibility
A dual-headed cable provides both USB Type-C and USB 3.0 Type-A plugs for broad host compatibility. Gold-plated connectors and a low-resistance PCB preserve signal integrity at high speed. The device works driver-free on Windows, macOS, Linux and iPadOS, letting you plug into desktops, laptops or tablets without extra software.

Questions about this item
Will the USB 3.1 10Gbps link bottleneck my CFexpress Type-B card on an older USB 3.0 port?
The reader runs at USB 3.1 10Gbps on a USB 3.1 port and falls back to USB 3.0 speeds on a USB 3.0 port, so the host port determines the maximum throughput.
How can I confirm the reader is delivering PCIe 4.0 gen4x2 performance after I plug it in?
Check the negotiated link speed in your OS device manager or system profiler; it should show a 10Gbps SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 2 connection when a CFexpress card is seated.
Does the box include both the USB-C and USB-A cables, or do I need to buy one separately?
The adapter provides one USB-C input and cables with both USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C connectors, so no extra cable purchase is required.
