USB-C PD trigger for 12 V barrel devices

This adapter converts a 65 W USB-C Power Delivery charger into a fixed 12 V source for equipment that uses a 3.5 × 1.3 mm DC jack. The built-in trigger negotiates the 12 V PDO automatically when a compatible charger is connected. It is intended for users who want to power or charge a 12 V laptop or peripheral from a modern USB-C supply.

Single-voltage 12 V output limitation

The adapter only delivers 12 V and does not support 5 V, 9 V, 15 V or 20 V profiles, so it cannot be used with devices that require those voltages. It also requires a charger that can provide a 12 V PDO at up to 65 W; chargers without that profile will not activate the output. Data lines are not passed through, so the USB-C port supplies power only.

90° angled plug for tight clearances

The right-angled DC connector reduces strain on the jack and fits behind equipment where a straight plug would hit a wall or desk. A USB 3.1 Type-C female receptacle accepts any standard PD charger cable, letting the user choose cable length and routing. The compact moulded body adds minimal bulk to the connection.
