Cold-weather mummy sleeping bag for large adults

This Lowepro 2205651 bag is rated for temperatures below minus 18 degrees Celsius and fits campers up to 74 inches tall. The mummy shape wraps close to the body while the adjustable hood balances warmth with ventilation. A Thermolock draft tube blocks heat loss through the zipper and the no-snag zipper operates smoothly in freezing conditions.

Sustained warmth through hollow polyester insulation

Coletherm hollow polyester fill traps body heat efficiently without adding bulk, keeping the bag at 2.87 kilograms. The polyester shell and lining resist moisture during multi-night trips and the insulation maintains loft after repeated compression. Machine washing restores cleanliness without degrading the fill performance over an entire season.

Practical limits of the temperature rating and fit

The 0°F rating assumes a sleeper using an insulated pad and base layers; colder ground or wind exposure will reduce effective warmth. The 82 by 32 inch interior accommodates one adult up to the stated height limit, but broader shoulders or restless sleepers may feel restricted. Packed dimensions of 17.5 by 12.7 by 3 inches set the minimum stowage space required.

Questions about this item

How does the Thermolock draft tube and 2.87 kg weight affect warmth retention during an all-night camp?

The Thermolock draft tube blocks heat loss through the zipper while the Coletherm hollow polyester insulation keeps warmth in at a packed weight of 2.87 kg.

What separate sleeping pad or liner must I already own for the bag to work on the ground?

The bag includes only the sleeping sack itself; a sleeping pad or ground mat is required underneath for insulation and comfort.

Will the 82 x 32 in dimensions and 74 in height limit fit my 6 ft frame alongside a standard camp pillow?

The large mummy cut measures 82 in long and 32 in wide with a 74 in height recommendation, leaving room for a pillow at the hood.
