6Gbps SAS HBA for ZFS and unRAID

This new LSI 9201-8i or 9211-8i host bus adapter runs in P20 IT mode and presents two internal SFF-8087 ports. It is built for software-defined storage platforms such as FreeNAS and unRAID that manage parity and redundancy directly. Low-profile and full-height brackets are included to fit different chassis layouts. The card delivers 6Gbps SAS connectivity for up to eight drives through the two mini-SAS connectors.

Ideal for software RAID arrays and JBOD expansion

Builders assembling a ZFS pool or unRAID array will appreciate the straightforward IT firmware that passes disks through without a hardware RAID layer. The two SFF-8087 ports support internal cabling only, so installations that need external drive enclosures or additional port counts should consider other options. Users who require onboard RAID acceleration or a different port style will not find those features here.
