The LSI 9305-24i provides 24 internal 12Gb/s SAS and SATA ports over a PCIe 3.0 x8 interface. It is designed for servers and workstations that need to attach large numbers of drives through a single slot. The card operates in IT mode, presenting drives directly to the operating system without RAID abstraction.

Fits a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot and uses SFF-8643 connectors

Installation requires a full-height PCIe 3.0 slot with eight lanes. The board carries 24 small-form-factor SAS HD connectors (SFF-8643), each supporting four lanes at 3, 6 or 12Gb/s. A high bracket and a low-profile baffle are supplied so the card fits either standard or low-profile chassis without extra parts.

Six SFF-8087 breakout cables included

The package ships with six 3.3FT SAS to SATA cables (SFF-8087) that convert each SFF-8643 port to four SATA connectors. This lets you populate up to 24 SATA drives immediately, saving the cost and lead time of sourcing separate breakout cables.
