What this stool is and who it suits

The Lunale Portable Stool-L-Gray is a compact, handbag-style seat made from grey carbon steel. Weighing 1.3 lb, it folds into a pocket-sized bundle that fits in a backpack or handbag. It is aimed at campers, anglers and travellers who need an instant perch without carrying a full chair.

Behaviour under sustained load

The carbon-steel frame supports the sitter continuously without flexing, while the integrated foot pads spread the load on soft or uneven ground. Because the structure is a single rigid piece, there are no moving joints to loosen during repeated sit-stand cycles over a long day outdoors.

Limits of the handbag-style fold

The folded package measures 11.2 in by 11.8 in, so it slides into most day-packs but will not fit in a small waist pack or a jacket pocket. The design has no height adjustment, locking mechanism or carrying strap beyond the keychain loop, so users who need variable seat height or hands-free carry should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How much does the 1.3 lb carbon steel frame add to my pack weight on a full-day hike?

The stool weighs 1.3 lb, so it adds roughly the same load as a filled water bottle.

What surface do I need to set the 11.2 in foot pads on for stable seating?

The integrated foot pads grip dirt, grass, gravel or hard floors without any extra mat or board.

Will the 11.8 in folded height slide into the side pocket of my current daypack?

When folded the stool measures 11.8 in tall, so it fits most external mesh pockets sized for a standard water bottle.
