14-in-1 USB-C Dock for Thunderbolt 3 Laptops

The LUOM DS14IN1 expands a single USB-C port into fourteen connections including dual video outputs, Gigabit Ethernet, card readers and multiple USB ports. It supports Thunderbolt 3 hosts such as MacBook Pro models from 2016 through 2020, MacBook Air 2018 and 2019, and recent Surface or Chromebook devices. The silver aluminium enclosure measures 10.5 by 3 by 0.75 inches and weighs 14 ounces.

Dual 4K HDMI and 1080p VGA plus power delivery

A 4K HDMI port runs at 30 Hz while the VGA port delivers 1080p at 60 Hz, letting you drive two external displays simultaneously. The USB-C Power Delivery input accepts an 87 W adapter to charge the host laptop while the dock is in use. Three USB 3.0 Type-A ports at 5 Gbps, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports at 480 Mbps and two USB-C data ports at 5 Gbps handle peripherals, storage and wired headsets through the 3.5 mm audio jack.

Verify host port capabilities before ordering

The dock requires a USB-C port that supports video alt mode and Power Delivery; plain data-only USB-C ports will not drive the video outputs or charge the laptop. Thunderbolt 3 compatibility is confirmed for the listed MacBook and Surface models, but other USB-C laptops may lack the necessary alternate-mode support. Buyers who need more than two external displays or higher refresh rates at 4K should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the USB-C PD charge port need any maintenance or replacement over time?

The USB-C PD charge port is built into the dock and has no user-serviceable parts; it does not require scheduled maintenance or replacement.

What limits sustained throughput when the Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 ports are all active?

The host USB-C link caps total bandwidth at 5 Gbps, so simultaneous 1000 Mbps Ethernet and three 5 Gbps USB 3.0 ports will share that single upstream pipe.

How hot or loud does the DS14IN1 get during all-day operation?

The aluminium enclosure passively dissipates heat; with no fan the unit runs silently and stays warm but within normal operating temperature for a 14-ounce dock.
