What this capture device does
The LUOM OZC4 captures one HDMI video signal and sends it to a computer over USB 3.0 for recording or live streaming. It is built for gamers, educators and broadcasters who need a simple way to bring gameplay, camera footage or set-top-box output into OBS Studio, VLC or similar software on Windows, macOS or Linux.
The resolution limit that decides fit
HDMI input accepts up to 4K at 30 Hz, but the recorded or streamed video tops out at 1080p 60 fps through the USB 2.0 data path. The local HDMI loop-out passes the original 4K 30 Hz signal to a monitor with no added latency, so you can play at full resolution while the PC receives a 1080p feed.
What the dongle needs around it
Connect the source with an HDMI cable up to 15 metres using AWG26 wire for 1080p and below. A free USB 3.0 port on the host computer supplies power and data with no driver installation. The 3.5 mm microphone input lets you mix live commentary directly into the capture stream.

Questions about this item
What does the 1080p 60fps capture rate mean when I plug the LUOM OZC4 into my PC?
The device records incoming HDMI video at up to 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second, so gameplay or camera footage appears smooth and detailed in your recording or streaming software.
How does the USB 3.0 connection limit what the capture card can do?
USB 3.0 provides enough bandwidth for 1080p 60fps capture with low latency, but the card cannot pass 4K 60fps video to the computer; the USB link caps recording at 1080p while the HDMI loop-out still shows 4K 30Hz on a local display.
What physical space and cables does the LUOM OZC4 need to fit into my setup?
The aluminium dongle has one HDMI input, one HDMI output and a USB 3.0 plug, plus a 3.5 mm microphone jack; it works with standard HDMI cables up to 15 metres at 1080p and requires no external power supply.
