The LUOM PB-9634 adds two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.1 port and dual SD and microSD card slots to 2016, 2017 and 2018 MacBook Pro 13 and 15 inch models. It connects directly to the host USB-C ports without extra cables and matches the Space Gray finish.

Expands connectivity on compatible MacBooks

The hub draws power from a standard PD charger delivering up to 100 W pass-through so the laptop stays charged while peripherals are attached. Data moves at up to 5 Gbps on the USB 3.0 ports and up to 40 Gbps on the USB 3.1 port, while card readers reach 104 Mb/s.

Includes welcome guide and support access

A printed welcome guide is bundled in the box and the purchase comes with access to lifetime customer service channels. No software drivers or additional adapters are supplied, so the hub works immediately on supported macOS versions.

Questions about this item

Does the hub throttle when both USB 3.0 ports and the card readers run at 5 Gbps and 104 Mb/s for hours?

The hub uses a single USB 3.1 upstream link, so sustained combined throughput is limited by that 5 Gbps pipe and will throttle if total demand exceeds it.

Does the aluminium body stay cool during all-day 100 W pass-through charging?

The chassis acts as a heatsink and remains warm but not hot during continuous 100 W Power Delivery use.

Which MacBook models accept the side-by-side USB-C connector without blocking the other port?

The hub matches MacBook Pro 13-inch and 15-inch from 2016, 2017 and 2018, plus MacBook Air 2018.
