USB 3.2 Type-C male-to-female extension cable 6.6 ft

This 6.6 ft USB 3.2 Type-C male-to-female cable extends the reach of USB-C devices for charging, data and video. It supports up to 100 W power delivery and 10 Gbps data transfer. The cable also carries 4K video at 3840x2160 and 1080p at 60 Hz. A nylon braid and reinforced strain relief are rated for over 20000 bends.

Replaces shorter fixed cables when devices sit

Use this extender when a built-in cable is too short to reach a dock, monitor, charger or peripheral. The jump is worth it if you need the full 10 Gbps bandwidth and 100 W charging at a distance of 6.6 ft. It will not add functionality to ports that lack video alt mode or power delivery support.

Limited to USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps

The cable cannot connect to USB-A, USB Mini-B or any non-USB-C port. It does not increase the speed or power beyond the host and device capabilities. Video output requires both ends to support DisplayPort alt mode. Length is fixed at 6.6 ft.

Questions about this item

What clearance does the 6.6 ft braided cable need behind a laptop or monitor?

The nylon braid adds about 5 mm of diameter, so allow at least 15 mm behind the port for a gentle bend radius without stressing the connector.

Which way round do I plug the male and female ends for 100 W charging and 10 Gbps data?

Insert the USB-C male end into the host or charger and the female end toward the device; the built-in E-Marker chip negotiates PD 3.0 power only in that direction.

How often should I inspect the strain-relief collars on these two cables?

Check the reinforced SR protectors every few months; the cable is rated for 20000+ bends, but sharp kinks near the collars can still fatigue the internal fibers over time.
