Portable card reader for iPhone and iPad

The LUOM SKYLETTE-L connects to Lightning ports on compatible iPhone and iPad models, letting you import photos and videos directly from SD cards without a computer or extra app. It supports iOS 9.2 or above on iPhone and iOS 8.0 or above on iPad, and works with devices ranging from iPhone 7 through iPhone 12 series as well as iPad Mini, Air and Pro models up to 12.9-Inch.

Single-slot Lightning adapter

The reader accepts SD, Compact Flash, Memory Stick, MMC, SmartMedia and xD cards up to 512GB capacity, so you can offload trail-camera or DSLR footage in the field. It draws power from the iOS device itself, requires no external supply, and leaves the charging port free for other accessories when not in use.

Steady USB 2.0 transfer rates under continuous use

Sustained read speeds sit at 14 to 16 MB/s over USB 2.0, allowing reliable batch imports of RAW stills and H.264 or MPEG-4 video without the slowdowns typical of short-burst benchmarks. The plug-and-play connection stabilises after 5 to 10 seconds and maintains throughput for the duration of large transfers.

Questions about this item

Does the Lightning port overheat during long imports?

The reader draws power through the Lightning connector and runs at USB 2.0 speeds of 14-16 MB/s, so it stays cool even during extended transfers.

What iOS version is required on my iPhone?

iOS 9.2 or later is needed for iPhone; iPad requires iOS 8.0 or later for the Photos app to launch automatically.

Do I need a separate power adapter or computer to use it?

No extra power or computer is required — plug the reader into the Lightning port and the Photos or Files app opens immediately.
