What This Cable Does

The LUOM Thunderbolt 4 USB C cable carries 40 Gbps data, up to 8K video at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz, and up to 240 W power delivery. It suits professionals moving large media libraries, creators driving high-resolution displays, and anyone charging laptops or phones from a single cable.

What To Verify First

Confirm your host, charger, and display all support Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 over USB-C. The 240 W rating requires a 48 V, 5 A charger and a device that negotiates that profile. Video at 8K or dual 4K needs a graphics output rated for those modes. Real-world transfer rates reach 2.8 GB/s read and 2.1 GB/s write with compatible storage.

Build And Daily Use

The grey male-to-male cable is tested to 5,000 bends for durability. At 5 ft it reaches across a desk without excess slack. The USB-C connectors seat firmly in Thunderbolt ports, docks, and hubs. One cable handles charging, data, and video simultaneously, reducing cable count on a workstation.

Questions about this item

Does the box include a charger or just the cable?

You receive one USB-C to USB-C cable; a compatible charger must be purchased separately to reach the 240W rating.

The listing mentions 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 144Hz — which one should I pick for my monitor?

Choose 8K 60Hz for a single high-resolution display, or 4K 144Hz when you need a higher refresh rate on a 4K panel.

The headline says 40Gbps but the notes show 2.8GB/s read and 2.1GB/s write — what speed will I actually see?

Real-world transfers reach up to 2.8GB/s read and 2.1GB/s write with a Thunderbolt 4 host and fast storage.
