What this cable does

The LUOM U310 is an active USB 3.0 extension cable that stretches a USB Type-A connection up to 65 feet while keeping SuperSpeed 5 Gbps performance. It is built for users who need to place printers, scanners, hard drives, cameras, keyboards, mice or game consoles far from the host computer without losing signal quality.

Check your ports and power needs

Verify that both the host and the peripheral use USB Type-A connectors, because this cable only fits A-Male to A-Female. The integrated signal booster draws power from the bus, yet devices that need more than 900 mA must use the included 5 V 2 A AC adapter to maintain stable operation over the full length.

Build quality and daily use

The cable uses corrosion-resistant braiding and a PVC jacket rated for over 20,000 bend cycles, so it resists wear when routed along floors or through cable trays. Gold-plated connectors reduce interference, and the plug-and-play design works on Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Chrome OS without driver installation.

Questions about this item

Does the 65 ft LUOM U310 cable ship with the 5 V / 2 A power adapter or must I buy one separately?

The 5 V / 2 A power adapter is included in the box, so no separate purchase is required.

When should I choose the 65 ft active cable instead of the 16 ft, 32 ft or 100 ft versions?

Pick the 65 ft length when your device sits roughly that distance from the host; the active booster and included power adapter keep USB 3.0 speeds stable at this reach.

Will the 5 Gbps headline speed hold on a 65 ft run to an external hard drive?

Yes, the built-in signal booster chip and supplied 5 V / 2 A adapter compensate for attenuation, maintaining SuperSpeed 5 Gbps transfer even at the full 65 ft.
