Solid-carbide Twister Xd drill

The M.A. Ford 2XDSR3701A Twister Xd 5X is a solid-carbide drill bit with a 9.40 mm cutting diameter. It is designed for high-performance drilling in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool suits professional machinists and maintenance engineers who need consistent hole quality and extended tool life.

Machinists needing 9.40 mm holes

This drill suits users producing 9.40 mm diameter holes in steel, stainless steel, cast iron or aluminium alloys where a 5× diameter flute length is appropriate. It is not for operators who require a different hole diameter, a longer or shorter flute length, or a coolant-through design.

9.40 mm cutting diameter

The single specification that decides fit is the 9.40 mm cutting diameter. The drill will only produce holes of this size, so the workpiece drawing must call for exactly 9.40 mm. California Proposition 65 warnings apply because the product contains listed chemicals.

Questions about this item

Which Twister Xd 5X carbide drill diameter should I choose for my application?

This item is the 9.40 mm size; select it when your hole specification calls for that exact diameter.

What does the 5X designation mean for drilling performance in a machine?

The 5X label indicates a five-times-diameter flute length, allowing deeper holes in a single pass without Peck cycles.

What shank standard does the 2XDSR3701A use and what does it limit?

It uses a standard cylindrical shank that fits common drill chucks and collets, limiting use to holders that accept round shanks.
