3.00 mm Twister Xd drill

The M.A. Ford Twister Xd 3X solid carbide drill is a 3.00 mm pneumatic accessory designed for high-precision holemaking in demanding materials. It suits machine shops and maintenance teams that require consistent accuracy and extended tool life in production environments.

Capacity and headroom

The 3X diameter-to-length ratio provides sufficient reach for shallow to medium-depth drilling operations while maintaining rigidity. The solid carbide construction resists wear in abrasive alloys, though the fixed 3.00 mm diameter limits the tool to a single hole size and cannot accommodate larger bores.

Upgrade path

This drill replaces general-purpose high-speed steel or cobalt bits where tighter tolerances and faster cycle times are needed. The jump is justified when repeatability and reduced tool-change frequency outweigh the higher upfront cost of solid carbide tooling.

Questions about this item

Will the 3.00 mm Twister Xd 3X drill fit the chuck on my existing pneumatic drill motor?

The 3.00 mm shank matches standard drill chucks that accept 3 mm bits, so it will fit the same pneumatic tooling you already use.

How can I confirm the 2XDSS1181A drill is cutting correctly after installation?

Check for clean, round holes with minimal burr and listen for a steady cutting sound without chatter or excessive vibration.

Does the 2XDSS1181A package include any coolant or lubricant for the solid carbide drill?

The box contains only the 3.00 mm Twister Xd 3X solid carbide drill; cutting fluid or lubricant must be purchased separately.
