Drills precise 0.45 mm holes in circuit boards with Twister GP geometry
The M.A. Ford 30201771 Twister GP is a 0.45 mm pneumatic drill bit designed for precision circuit board work. It targets technicians and engineers who need clean, accurate holes in composite substrates. The accessory fits standard pneumatic handpieces used in electronics assembly and repair environments. Its fine diameter supports dense board layouts and through-hole component mounting.
This bit replaces dull or broken micro-drills that cause burrs, wander or delamination in fibreglass epoxy boards. The upgrade is worth it when hole quality drops below IPC acceptance criteria or when drill change frequency slows production throughput. It is not suited for drilling FR-4 panels thicker than the flute length allows or for users who need carbide router bits for board profiling.
Installation consists of inserting the shank into a matching collet and tightening to the toolholder specification. Excessive runout from worn collets or bent spindles is the most common cause of premature tip breakage. The bit is not for hand-held rotary tools without precision collets, and it cannot be resharpened once the cutting edges wear.

Use a precision collet or drill chuck that accepts a 0.45 mm shank; a standard 3 mm or 1/8 inch collet will not grip it securely.
Running the pneumatic spindle above the recommended speed for a 0.45 mm bit causes immediate breakage; verify the tool's maximum RPM before starting.
Replace the bit when the cutting lips show visible wear or the hole quality deteriorates; resharpening a 0.45 mm drill is impractical.
