Twister Micro-Tuff Drill 0.17 mm

The Twister Micro-Tuff Drill in 0.17 mm diameter is a precision pneumatic accessory from M.A. Ford. It is intended for technicians who need extremely small hole drilling in specialised applications.

Installation and common issues

The drill fits standard pneumatic tool holders for micro-sized shanks. Because of the 0.17 mm diameter, the bit is fragile and can snap if side load or excessive feed pressure is applied during use.

Pre-order checks

Verify that your pneumatic tool accepts a 0.17 mm shank and provides the low run-out required for micro-drilling. Confirm that your workspace complies with California Proposition 65 warnings regarding cancer and reproductive-harm chemicals.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 0.17 mm Twister Micro-Tuff Drill is cutting correctly after installation?

A properly functioning drill produces a clean, round hole at the stated 0.17 mm diameter without excessive burrs or wandering; verify the result with a calibrated gauge or microscope.

What comes with the 305M0017 Twister Micro-Tuff Drill and what must I source separately?

The package contains the single 0.17 mm drill bit; a compatible pneumatic spindle, collet or chuck, lubrication and personal protective equipment are not included and must be obtained separately.

Which capacity of the Twister Micro-Tuff line should I choose for a 0.17 mm hole requirement?

Select the 305M0017 model, which is manufactured specifically for a 0.17 mm cutting diameter; other listed sizes correspond to different diameters and will not produce the required hole size.
