M.A. Ford CXDSR 0370AP Cyclone Xd 5X Double Margin Drill 3.70mm

SKU CH-R24X-R2EHJ

Solid double-margin drill bit creates accurate 3.70 mm holes at five times the standard diameter

  • 5x diameter drilling depth for faster through-holes
  • 70 mm diameter for precise hole sizing
  • Double margin design improves hole straightness and finish
  • Cyclone Xd geometry reduces thrust and heat buildup
  • Solid carbide construction resists wear in tough materials

Cyclone Xd 5X Drill 3.70 mm

The M.A. Ford Cyclone Xd 5X is a solid double-margin drill bit measuring 3.70 mm in diameter. It is designed for high-precision drilling in demanding materials where hole accuracy and tool life are critical.

Thermals noise and power draw

The double-margin design stabilises the bit during cutting, reducing vibration and heat buildup in the workpiece. This geometry promotes smoother chip evacuation and helps maintain consistent cutting temperatures during extended use.

Upgrade path and value

The drill replaces standard single-margin bits when tighter tolerances and better surface finish are required. The step up is worthwhile for production runs where reaming operations can be reduced or eliminated.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 3.70 mm Cyclone Xd 5X drill in my chuck without damaging the double margin?

Insert the shank fully into the chuck jaws, tighten evenly so the double margin runs true, and avoid side-loading during the first plunge.

What maintenance or replacement will the 3.70 mm Cyclone Xd 5X drill need after extended use?

Resharpen the point when flank wear reaches the margin line; replace the drill once the double margin width falls below the 3.70 mm nominal diameter.

What limit appears first when the 3.70 mm Cyclone Xd 5X drill runs at sustained feed rates?

Heat buildup at the cutting lips degrades edge hardness before the double margin wears, so reduce feed or add coolant when the shank feels hot.
