Two-flute ball-nose end mill for profiling and contour milling operations
The M.A. Ford Tuffcut GP 2 flute ball nose end mill is a new cutting tool for milling contoured profiles in a range of workpiece materials. It suits machinists and maintenance teams who need a reliable general-purpose cutter for profiling, slotting and finishing operations on milling machines or CNC routers. The 5/32 inch diameter provides a useful size for light to medium material removal where a ball nose geometry is required.
This end mill replaces dull or damaged ball nose tools that leave poor surface finish or chatter during contouring. The two flute design improves chip evacuation compared with single flute alternatives, making the jump worthwhile when cycle time or surface quality on curved surfaces becomes a bottleneck. It also supersedes lower-cost imports that lack consistent grind quality, reducing scrap on precision profiling jobs.
The 5/32 diameter handles light to medium profiling passes in aluminium, mild steel and plastics with adequate rigidity for standard machine spindles. It runs out when deep cavities demand longer reach than the standard length provides, or when high feed rates in hardened alloys exceed the two flute chip load capacity. For heavy roughing or very deep pockets, a larger diameter or extended length tool would be necessary.

The cutter has a 5/32 inch shank, so use a collet or holder that matches that exact size.
Insert the shank fully into the collet, tighten evenly, and avoid side pressure on the cutting edges during seating.
Replace it when the ball radius shows visible wear, chipping, or when surface finish degrades on contoured cuts.
